This Privacy Policy explains how SpazaTrack (the "Service") collects, uses, and protects your information. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following information:
- Account information — when you register, we collect your name, email address, and a password (stored securely in encrypted form).
- Business data you enter — transactions, categories, stock items, and any other records you create in the Service. This data belongs to you.
- Feedback and support — if you submit a feature wish, report an issue, or contact us, we receive your message and, if you are signed in, your name and email.
- Payment information — when you subscribe to Pro, payments are processed by our payment provider, PayFast. We do not store your card number or banking details.
- Usage data — we use Google Analytics to understand how the Service is used (for example, which pages are visited). This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- create and manage your account, including verifying your email address;
- store and synchronise your business records so you can access them across devices;
- process your subscription and manage billing with PayFast;
- respond to your feedback, support requests, and queries;
- protect the Service against fraud and abuse (including reCAPTCHA on our forms); and
- understand overall usage trends and improve the Service.
4. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We only share it where necessary:
- PayFast — to process subscription payments. PayFast receives the details needed to bill you and handles your payment under its own privacy policy.
- Google — for reCAPTCHA (fraud prevention) and Google Analytics (usage statistics).
- Hosting provider — your data is stored on secure servers that host the Service.
- Legal obligations — we may disclose information if required by law, such as a court order or regulatory request.
5. Data Retention
We keep your account and business data for as long as your account is active, so you can access your records whenever you need them. When you delete your account, your data is permanently removed from our systems. Aggregated, anonymised usage statistics may be kept for analytics purposes.
6. Your Rights
You control your data. You may access, correct, or update your account details at any time from the Profile and Settings pages. You can request a copy of your data, or ask us to delete it, by contacting us through the Help page. You can also delete your account (and all associated data) yourself from your Profile page at any time.
If you are in South Africa, the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) gives you further rights over your personal information, which we will respect on request.
7. Cookies & Analytics
The Service uses cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences (such as your theme and currency). We also use Google Analytics, which sets cookies to collect anonymised usage statistics. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect some functionality, such as staying signed in.
8. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure storage of passwords, and restricted access to our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so while we work hard to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please keep your password private and use a strong, unique password.
9. Children
The Service is intended for adults who operate or manage a business. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us so we can remove it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where practical, notify you in the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
